Pastor Tim is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, where he pastored 3 churches in the metro Atlanta area before starting here at FBC DeFuniak Springs in April of 2017. He began pastoring at the age of 24 and has diligently pursued knowing God’s Word through becoming a student of the Bible. He has 3 seminary degrees, including one from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary as well as a master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling.
Tim has a passion for sharing the good news of God’s love with everyone. He encourages all followers of Christ to tell their personal story of redemption as well as exhibit God’s grace to others.
Pastor Tim believes that God has a deep love and purpose for everyone, that none are out of reach pf God’s transforming grace. As such, the church strives to provide Bible study and activities from newborn to senior adults.
Pastor Tim derives great joy from being outdoors and playing golf. He also loves being a husband, father, and grandfather.
Dean was ordained in 1982 and later received a degree in music at Palm Beach Atlantic College and a master’s degree at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served churches in Oklahoma and Florida before coming to FBC DeFuniak Springs as Worship Pastor in 2013.
Dean is married to Dawn and has three grown children, Darcy, Dylan, and Daniel.
He is passionate about worshipping Jesus and leading others to experience His splendor and glory in corporate worship.
Dean loves serving at First Baptist Church and living in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He is adamant that the best thing about this church is the people. There is no better group of people to love God with and serve one another.
Brady is from north Mississippi and served bi-vocationally after graduating from Mississippi State University in 2018. Was called to come faithfully serve as Youth Pastor in May of 2020 at FBC DeFuniak Springs.
Brady, his wife Lauren, and their daughter Lillibeth love serving with their church family and spending time loving and ministering to the youth. Being called into ministry is one of Brady’s lifelong dreams and looks forward to how God will bless First Baptist Church as they grow together in fellowship and community.
Brady is a huge sports fanatic and when he isn’t cheering for the Bulldogs or the Dallas Cowboys, you can catch him on the golf course or playing corn hole.
Tara and her husband Jake are both natives to the Holley/Navarra Area of the Panhandle of Florida. They raise their beautiful family here in DeFuniak Springs.
Tara became our Office Aide at First Baptist Church on March 10 of 2023. She is a wonderful asset to have. Tara is a friendly face helping all the many needs of our members.
Tara enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. One of the many hobbies they enjoy is baseball. Their family loves Jesus and being outside.
Candace became our Administrative Assistant on January 1, 2017. This job requires her to wear many hats and keep up with just about everything that is happening.
On Wednesday evenings, Candace enjoys helping with the 3rd – 5th grade “Rooted Kids”, our children’s Wednesday night ministry.
Candace is a native from DeFuniak Springs and enjoys relaxing in her home on King’s Lake. In her leisure time, she enjoys hanging out with her husband and daughter as well as traveling.
